The theme for the mixtape this time is... BIG ROOM SOUND!

The Big Room Sound is the thing that is taking the world by storm at the moment - you can see that pretty much everyone LOVES this sound, even many of the more Progressive Trance producers and DJs have slowly transformed their style into main-room friendly

Personally I love the vocals and the melodic elements of the big room stuff, there are so many flavours in this mixtape, I compiled and mixed 21 high-energy, big room tunes and crafting them into a seamless musical journey - I hope you enjoy listening to it as much as I enjoyed mixing it!

This  mixtape was done LIVE on the Pioneer DDJ-SX with Serato, I took several different takes all with different flow and different tracklists, I have finally decided to go with this as the final product!

Well if you are wondering why I have been hammering mixtapes rapidly these days - I plan to make a whole batch of new (2013) mixtapes before I go into hibernation mode (picture a hermit or some warrior training in the mountains of tibet) and focus on my own original productions / remixes - I think its time for me to cut down on playing other people's music and spend more time working on my original music!

Stereosonic Melbourne (4 hour set video!)

Just spent the last 4 hours watching this 4 hour live set straight off Melbourne's Stereosonic music festival

(First set is Laidback Luke, Followed by Avicii, Calvin Harris, and then Tiesto with a Bauss Red jacket)

I must say I  miss the old days of raving and clubbing, although now that im much older than I used to be (and I have a lovely 3 year old baby daughter) I suppose things can never be the same again, perhaps its a good thing?

I Started out clubbing when I was very very young at the age of 16, that is more than 10 years ago now that I am 28, after about a decade of hard partying I suppose now i am at the age when I (most of the time) am over it, but hey, sometimes you cant help to feel nostalgic!

deadmau5 feat. Chris James - The Veldt

Have you heard deadmau5' new track?

I have been listening this song on repeat lately, I really love the sound and the lyrics, i know some people who probably think "uh its the generic mau5 prog  hau5 again" but actually there's a lot of cool story behind this song

I remember as a kid (15 years ago??) I read this book called "The Veldt" or also known as "The World  the Children Made"  - a really cool story but a bit tragic and messed up at the same time

The veldt told a story about... (well im just gonna paste something from wikipedia!)

"A family lives in a house with the latest technology. It is called the “Happylife Home” and its installation cost $30,000. The house is filled with machines that do everything for them from cooking meals, to clothing them, to rocking them to sleep. The two children, Peter and Wendy, become fascinated with the "nursery," a virtual reality room that is able to connect with the children telepathically to reproduce any place they imagine.

The parents, George and Lydia, soon realize that there is something wrong with their way of life. George and Lydia are also perplexed that the nursery is stuck on an African setting, with lions in the distance, eating the dead carcass of what they assume to be an animal. There they also find recreations of their personal belongings. Wondering why their children are so concerned with this scene of death, they decide to call a psychologist

The psychologist, David McClean, suggests they turn off the house and leave. The children, completely addicted to the nursery, beg their parents to let them have one last visit. The parents relent, and agree to let them spend a few more minutes there. When they come to the nursery to fetch the children, the children lock them in from the outside. George and Lydia look on as the lions begin to advance towards them. At that point, they realize that what the lions were eating in the distance was not an animal, but their own simulated remains.
The kids realized that the only way they could stay in their nursery is to get rid of their parents by locking George and Lydia in the nursery with the lions."


You see its one of those stories that just gets stuck in your head, so when I heard deadmau5 - the veldt I feel that i can relate to it as i used to read it over and over again, trying to understand what the writer was thinking when he wrote the story. I think its one of the coolest yet rather fucked up story!

I mean, i think i was really young when I first read that story, the thing that first went through my mind about the ending was "WTF did just happen??"

Review: Linkin Park : A Thousand Suns , Album of the year??

Okay, I know this album is pretty old by now, but i just wanted to take my time to listen to it over and over and over so that I can give a proper review on it, in fact I have been listening to this album on a daily basis lately and I think that justifies a review!


So is this album any good? Well I honestly I think it is one of the best Linkin Park album I ever heard! If you don't like it, then you really need to just sit down and have a listen to the whole album, and then listen again, this is one of those album that gets better and better with each listen! personally when i first bought the album i was skipping through most of the tracks and was puzzled by the amount of "fillers" in the album, from the whole album there's probably 9 full length tracks and about 6 "interludes"

Well i said interludes instead of fillers the second time because the interludes themselves are pretty damn awesome if you actually listen to them!
Aniways - i was skipping through most of the tracks at first and thought "uh... this album's not so good" but later on i took the time to actually sit down and listen to each and every one of the tracks in the album, and realized how good they actually are!! This album just grows on you, it might not make such a big impact if you just listen to short parts of the songs or a little bit here and there, you actually have to listen and digest it at least once, and then the goodness just flows in!!

The whole album is EPIC, although there are many stand out tracks like the drumbeat-happy "when they come for me" , the super-epic soon-to-be-anthem "Iridescent", "Burning In the Skies", and "waiting for the end" were among my favorites. The only bad thing about this album is that there aren't enough songs!!!

I was hoping for at least 12 to 13 full length tracks instead of just 9, but i guess quality matters more than quantity?  We just want more stuff to listen to, now we'll have to wait for the next album for more LP material!

So the verdict : This is one of the best Album EVER released, its a masterpiece! Its a definite must have either if you are an old time Linkin Park Fan or if you never heard of them before (Is that possible?? lol)
If you think you did listen to it and didn't like it, give it a chance and have a listen one more time, you'll be surprised how they get better with each listen!!! Im not kidding!!


Score: 9/10
(If they had put more tracks in then it'd be a perfect 10!! Even with the interludes the album is too short!!)

Pendulum - Crush (from the album "Immersion")

Cant get this song out of my head ! Yes, some of you might think "uh its the typical pendulum sound" but for some weird reason i kept on playing this tune on repeat - yes its unmistakably Pendulum

Pendulum is an electronica/Dnb band hailing from a small city in Western Australia (which happens to be the place where i grew up in! Rock on!) they have now reached massive international succes (coz they are awesome!) if you havent been checking them out already - give em a listen!
